Inspired by the motion picture 'Forbidden Planet' courtesy of Turner Entertainment Co. Performance Dates: Wednesday 26 - Saturday 29 September 2018 Performance Venue: Epsom Playhouse, Epsom The Olivier Award-winning spectacular, Return to the Forbidden Planet, has set its course for Epsom Playhouse this Autumn! Join Captain Tempest and the crew of the Intergalactic Starship Albatross as they travel deep into hyperspace. What’s waiting for them? A mad scientist, a scary space monster, unrequited love and the mysterious planet D’illyria – a star not yet marked on their cosmic charts. Loosely based on the 1950’s sci-fi film ‘Forbidden Planet’ author Bob Carlton has created a riotous mix of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, B movie Science Fiction and some of the biggest Rock ‘n’ Roll hits from the 1960s and 70s. With live music, stunning special effects and monster songs including Great Balls of Fire, Teenager in Love, Good Vibrations, Shake Rattle & Roll, She’s Not There, Young Girl and Wipe Out, this is a feel-good musical of meteoric proportions that’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy. So fasten your seatbelts and prepare for the musical theatre ride of your life! |
