Performance Dates: Saturday 29 - Monday 31 August 2020 Performance Times: 1pm and 5pm (entry to park 1 hour prior to each performance) Performance Venue: Cannizaro Park (Wimbledon) Mayhem Theatre Company are returning for our 9th year of Outdoor Summer Shakespeare in Wimbledon! From the team that brought you A Midsummer Night’s Dream last year, we’re returning for a limited run in Cannizaro Park over the August Bank Holiday. We couldn’t choose just one play this year (and in truth we couldn’t have performed any one as correctly socially distanced), so we’re bringing the show that’s become a cult classic containing all 37 plays in just 97 minutes! That’s right - the entirety of the Bard’s stage-works to South London for the Bank holiday weekend! All sixteen comedies have been condensed into ‘Four Weddings and a Transvestite’, the history plays are transformed into a game and Hamlet is staged in a matter of minutes... and for the finale, performed backwards! The beautiful setting of Cannizaro Park will provide us with a stunning backdrop for the six open-air performances, with actors fully amplified. All shows will be socially distanced and the relevant safety precautions taken as per government guidelines. So, you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the show! |
